The Last of Our Holland Lops

Happy 4th of July everyone. My son Treysen has decided that he wants to join the robotics team and compete in chess tournaments.  With his change of focus comes the sad announcement that we will no longer be raising and showing Holland Lops.  I have been slowly selling off his herd and just 3 of some of the best left.  These are the last of our Holland Lops. Let me know if you want to help them pack their bags. Fully pedigreed.

Meet BBB's Zeus

This is our newest New Zealand broken black buck Zeus.  He was born on 3-23-22 and is out of our black buck Oberon and our broken black doe Wisteria.  I think his daddy may have just out produced himself with this fella.  He is the best out of our last few litters in my opinion and will be staying to see how he grows up and eventually he will find his way to the show table to see if he can impress the judges the way he has impressed me so far.

A Graduating Senior Means a New Direction

We are sad and pleased to announce that our entire herd of English Spots is now available. They have been an amazing project for my daughter all through high school and now that Seriah is graduating and is taking the next big step in her life, she is hoping to help fund college and a mission with some of her rabbit sales. Please feel free to contact me directly about what we have available. I have seniors, juniors, and a few babies in nest boxes that will be weaning about the middle of June.

The Baby Rush Continues!

More babies have arrived and it's time for their photos of cuteness. This round is mostly mini lops and a couple new zealands. I just love baby time. We have new zealand babies who will be weaning in just a couple weeks on the 18th.

Meet BBB's Tchaikovsky

This is BBB's Tchaikovsky. He is a SR chestnut mini lop buck who was born on 4-26-21.  He is out of our chestnut buck Neverwinter and our chestnut doe Alice.  He has been on the show table several times with my daughter Clarissa.  We were very buck heavy with our last several litters so he has his bags packed and is ready for some ladies of his own.

Book Spotlight

Today I am doing a book Spotlight. The title of the book is "Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits" by Bob Bennett.

Originally it was written in 1936 it has been updated several times. This book is an excellent resource for anyone raising rabbits. It covers so much information you need to know and really helped me to get us started on the right foot with our rabbits. From why raise them, to how to pick the right breed for you it moves on to housing and equipment needed, feeding rabbits, and breeding how to's it also covers things to look out for that could be a problem and marketing, composting for the garden, showing rabbits and in the back it has a little bit about cooking them as well if you decide on meat rabbits. This is a book that I still refer back to when I have an issue pop up.

The only draw back to this resource is that since it was written in the 1930's the price guides have never been updated, and things cost more then the author talks about them costing back then. So ignore the price check guides and you will have an amazing resource to help you improve on your rabbit raising journey.
