We rubbed them down with her older kits so they would smell like her own babies and put the nest box in with her. She hopped right in and fed every single one into a milk coma. I honestly think this is the first time in 2 weeks that these babies have had completely full bellies.

Champion Foster Mom
Our broken black doe SB's Lena is a champion mom. We weaned her kits a couple weeks early today because I have another doe has asked that her identity be kept anonymous due to self incrimination. And the fact that first timers get to have a second chance at our rabbitry and she will be rebred to try again at some point in the near future, who is a first time mom that is refusing to feed her babies. When we force her to go into the nest for feeding time she hunkers down squashing them and pees all over them. The decision was made to foster the entire litter over to Lena and see how she would take to them.
